A Journey of Grit, Growth, and Excellence in Ethiopia's Gig Economy

On the crisp morning of January 30, 2024, Tebibu Solomon set out on a journey that would change his life. At just 26, Tebibu wasn’t just another unemployed college graduate - he was a driven, skilled professional determined to make his mark. Originally from Hosana, Tebibu moved to Addis Ababa with a dream of building a better future. Renting a modest place, he started working hard to support himself while chasing opportunities in the bustling capital.

Tebibu’s story is one of adaptability and grit. With a degree in Electrical and Control Engineering, he didn’t limit himself to a single skill. Instead, he embraced versatility. Plumbing, electrical work, home appliance repair, welding, furniture craftsmanship - Tebibu is mastering it all. For him, every gig is more than just a task; its a chance to solve problems and build trust.

It didn’t take long for Tebibu to stand out. Joining GoodayOn marked a turning point in his journey. In just a few months, he has completed six jobs, earning 14,600 birr along the way. But his success isn’t just about the money. Tebibu’s employers consistently praise his craftsmanship and commitment. He is the kind of professional who doesn’t rest until a job is done perfectly, often following up to ensure everything met his high standards. Pedaling through Addis Ababa on his bike, Tebibu is becoming a familiar and reliable figure - a symbol of hard work on two wheels.

His ambition doesn't stop here, always hungry for growth, Tebibu grabbed every opportunity to sharpen his skills. One standout moment came when he joined the prestigious Jaquar Training Program through GoodayOn. He not only completed the program but earned a certification that distinguished him in a competitive field. This wasn’t just another achievement; it is proof of his relentless pursuit of excellence.

Tebibu Solomon’s journey is a testament to resilience and the power of persistence. From humble beginnings to his growing success with GoodayOn, he continues to inspire as a professional who doesn’t settle. He’s always looking for ways to improve, learn, earn and reach new heights: one step, one gig, and one bike ride at a time.
